Starting this year, on the island of Gozo in Malta in the small town of Ghajnsielem transforms into a vivid reenactment of the Passion of Jesus. The old entrance of Fort Chambray are lined with spectators as actors bring to life the story of Jesus’ final days, from his triumphal entry into Jerusalem to his crucifixion and resurrection.
The reenactment is a deeply emotional experience, with participants and spectators alike moved by the powerful portrayal of the events that shaped Christianity. The actors wear intricate costumes and makeup, creating a sense of realism that draws you in and makes you feel like you are truly witnessing the story unfold.
As a photographer from Gozo, I’ve had the opportunity to capture some incredible moments during the Passion reenactment. From the haunting portrayal of the Last Supper to the heartbreaking scene of Jesus carrying the cross, every moment is filled with raw emotion and breathtaking visuals.
If you’re looking to experience a unique and moving cultural event, the Passion reenactment in Ghajnsielem is not to be missed. And if you’re a photographer, like me, there’s no better opportunity to capture some truly stunning images that will transport you and your viewers to another time and place.
